Green Paint – One Room Challenge Week 3

October 23, 2020

Lately I’ve been obsessed with green paint. It has become such the popular color these days. I see it everywhere and I want to hoard all the samples. Give me all of them. In my opinion, choosing green paint is almost as difficult as choosing white paint. There are so many different shades and undertones. I learned this the hard way when I was choosing a green for my vertical shiplap accent wall in the dining room. So. Many. Options. It can become overwhelming. So where do you start? For week three of the One Room Challenge we are talking all things green paint.

I usually have a general idea in mind before I start getting samples. For this room, I wanted a medium to dark green that would compliment the rust colored rug. I had a few samples already and I thought sure one of them would work. Unfortunately, they were either too light or just not the right shade so I ended up getting two more samples, Behr Black Evergreen and Pine Mountain. When in doubt, don’t be afraid to go darker. That’s my motto anyway.

The Winner

Pine Mountain is the clear winner. It is the perfect shade of green for this bedroom and also happens to have a woodsy name. It was meant to be. Black Evergreen was a close second. It’s a gorgeous dark teal but the bedroom doesn’t have enough natural light and from far away it just looks black. Now that I’ve found my perfect green I can get started on the accent wall!
