How is it already week seven of the One Room Challenge? This week in the Dreamy Guest Room it was all about wallpaper. Photowall Sweden was kind enough to gift me this gorgeous traditional paste wallpaper called “Cradled in Clouds.” Having only ever done peel and stick, I knew this would be a fun challenge. Every box came with its own bag of paste so I mixed it up and went straight to work.
I used my laser level to draw a straight line on the wall to line up my first panel. Getting that first one straight is crucial. It took me a bit to figure out just the right amount of glue but by the time I made it to panel four I found my stride. I rolled the glue onto the wall with a short-knap roller.
Unlike peel and stick wallpaper where you overlap the seams, with traditional wallpaper you butt the seams up against one another. Here is a close up view. This print is very forgiving, however, if you get a tad off of alignment.
One of my favorite features about this wallpaper is that it is one large mural instead of a repeating pattern. This helps a lot with waste and really takes the guesswork out of lining up the panels.
I’m so happy with how it turned out! It really brings the space together I think.
We’re in the home stretch now! Stay tuned for the big reveal next week!
